Scallop Shorts for Today

Happy Monday Babes!! I have been going back and fourth on attending NYFW this year! As it stands right now, I have yet to purchase a ticket to fly out as well as hotel to stay. I have felt differently about attending this year, I haven't grown any more with my blog this year, as a lot has changed with in my family and personal life, and that all comes first.
I love blogging and love working with companies and inspiring others to stay body positive. I haven't been super "go getter" with my blog after attending the greatest blogger conference, put on by Style Collective. I learned a lot and have a ton of goals to work towards, but like I said my family is first. I am in a relationship where there are two kids involved. One is in his second year at college in Chicago, and the other one is starting his freshman year at the High school. Lets just say kids are expensive.

When I got into a relationship with kids, I didn't know what to expect. I didn't know how to act or not to act. I have just been myself and they either love it or not. I would say I have a great relationship with the boys. They are older so they kinda get it, (the co parenting piece)

Chris and I split everything 50/50 it makes it fair. We have a very unwritten financial part of our relationship where if he buys meals, I put up the weight somewhere else such as buying the kids school supplies or school clothes. I help in a non- traditional way financially for the boys. I try to pay for everything that Chris cant (he could but I want to help) Chris knows that if something should happen I am here to help financially get the boys on track. That is part of what I think a partnership is.

Given that our oldest had some financial set backs coming home from collage this year, I have had less time to pursue some of the things I want to with my blog. (not a big deal, since this is my side hustle) I just projected to be further along with blogging than I am. Whats that saying... "shit happens"

So our oldest' car broke down not even an hour out of Chicago. So that meant having to travel to Chicago, town his car all the way back to Colorado, get the car fixed (which wasn't an option), buy a new car.... so lets just say the car that he had for almost two years was a huge waste of money. I rearranged my work schedule to be the one to go out and tow him back to Colorado, but I think Chris didn't feel right letting me do that, so he stepped up and did it. (I honestly don't mind)

I think this year will get better... (fingers crossed) The youngest isn't playing any sports as of yet. (he is the gamer type) We want him to do something active, but he isn't wanting or showing any interest. So he won't have much of a busy schedule this year with sports or a huge financial piece for sporting gear.

The oldest is also helping us out this year, he is going to be working part time as he goes to school, to help pay for his car payment and gas each month. He also is on a full ride scholarship for his academics this year, so we won't have to pay tuition which is huge. We just have to pay room and board. (YIKES) He is playing basketball for the collage so I am sure we will make trips out to see him, as well as fly him home for the holidays.

This September, I planned to attend NYFW, however every show I pitched to hasn't responded, or they have said NO. I feel like the shows are very exclusive this year. Only the top bloggers are able to attend. Which is why in my gut, I don't think I will attend. I made so many connections and had such a blast last year at my first NYFW experience, that I wanted to go again this year, but something feels weird about it. So I am last minute booking a flight/hotel if things start getting better with plans.

Chris and I will try to attend the Balloon Fiesta this year in my hometown of New Mexico. Many of you may know that I am Lithuanian/Greek/(MUT) but I was raised in NM till I was about 7 then moved to Fort Collins Colorado where I now consider myself born and raised here since I have been here my whole life! I am pretty much a native.

I hope you all have an awesome week! I wanted to purge all of that information on you all, so you know just where and what I have been up to.  I hope to be back on track for the Monday, Wednesdays, Friday posts.
I hope to put content in my posts as well, instead of me rambling.
