My blogging tips for beginners
Now, before I start on these blogging tips, I still consider myself a beginner and a small blogger. I am still just getting started! I have learned so much over this past year, and I cant wait to implement what I have learned.

I don’t make crazy amounts of money, I don’t have a crazy amount of followers, I am still learning every single day. At the same time, I remember when I was first starting out my blog and I had no answers. I literally knew nothing! I also didn’t know any other bloggers personally that I could ask so it took me a year to figure things out. (its been almost 2 years and I still don't have it all figured out) I am just going to share some of the blogging tips that may be helpful to a babe that has either asked me "how to get started "or is scared to ask!

Get a domain and website! I got my domain through GoDaddy and my blog is run on Blogger I am about to transition to WordPress! I think platforms like Squarespace and Blogger are super easy to navigate! When I made the decision to switch to WordPress, I had to hire on help as I found it to be way more techy!! I am working with a girl that does this for a living, so she is helping to make my transformation amazing! I cant wait to reveal and share my new blog on a new platform with you all real soon!

Use your same Instagram account rather than create a new ‘blog’ one! Why make a new one when you already have an account that your friends and family follow?! Some people WILL unfollow you. That’s just how it will go. But do not let that discourage you!!! The people who actually care will follow and support you. And I will say, a lot of the people who unfollow or aren’t supportive in the beginning will come around once they see how happy you are. I’ve had many friends unfollow me when I started and now that I have gained a following they have reached out asking to help them or promote their business!!!(small world huh)

Work with photographers or invest in a camera and some sort of editing software! Photos are so important when it comes to blogging!! It is a very visual thing to read a blog so you want to make sure your blog photos and social media photos are appealing to the eye! I have hired a photographer and have worked with a few actually! They are all different, one is very strict with her shooting and charges a lot, the second one takes amazing photos has the best price and works with all bloggers (she is my favorite), the third is super expensive and edits only 2 of the photos and I need at least 6 per post! So I have two different cameras a Nikon and a Cannon! I have been using my Canon Rebel! I love it! Its super user friendly! I have learned simple commands and have taught them to bae and to his son, and now his son takes my photos! I have Lightroom for my preset that I have purchased mainly for my Instagram photos- but I think I will start to do my blog the same way as well!! I love how they all look! I don't shoot on days that I have crazy blemishes or the need to photoshop things- because honestly I don't know how to do that! And I want all of my readers to see me for who I am. If I have wrinkles or pimples that are visible then so be it! This is me! I do think adding software to make your pictures brighter is a must! The way that the new Apple phones are you don't need an expensive camera or photo editing software. I now some bloggers that only use their iPhones! I don't have a fancy upgraded iPhone so the 6 plus doesn't take the best photos!

Networking! is definitely my favorite part about blogging! Put yourself out there. Make friends. Reach out to companies. Join Facebook groups. ( I have )Whatever your way is to connect with other people whose blogs are a similar niche as yours – do it! (If you are finding your niche join groups anyways- other boss babes will help you! I love to help people, I am trying to implement that through my blog currently!

Apply to be a part of influencer networks! This will happen with time, but it’s a good way to find campaigns and partnerships with brands!  I’ll go over these more in upcoming posts but again, if you have any questions shoot me an email! So far my favorite has been Her Campus!(I started this after college, as a way to branch out and seek opportunities)

DON’T COMPARE YOURSELF!  This industry is very competitive and intimidating. Don’t forget that what makes your blog unique is YOU and that is so special and unique!! I have had moments of comparison. " why am I not growing as fast as so and so.. we started at the same time.." Don't do it! "just keep swimming!"

Be yourself! I have personally found that my favorite bloggers to follow are the ones who I feel like I personally know even though I have never met them before! You can see their personality through their captions, blog posts, and Instagram stories! I think personality goes a long way and also helps you stand out from the crowd! I am normally really sarcastic/ witty! Another thing that goes with this is – don’t be someone you are not! People will see right through you if you are fake, but people will also see your authenticity when you are real and it will go a long way! There is no sense is mocking all of those big bloggers, after all they all started somewhere, and have been lucky enough to get noticed by the right people or person to help them get to where they are. It would be too easy to create content and buy all of the same pieces as these bigger bloggers- but people will see that you are just like everyone else and no one wants to follow 50 of the same account. It can be challenging to stay creative and authentic with out doing what everyone else is doing. I have to say, there are only so many different ways to say the same things as other people. If I have a post about "how to make or do a certain thing- there is only so many different ways to say or do this. So just remember to put your own spin on common posts or content!

At the end of the day we are all here to inspire others and if we can do that through our feeds and using our own personalities, but representing similar items as most every one, it is ok!! Some people may read your post on "blogging 101" and because it's your post they may take away way more than from someone one else's "blogging 101" post.

Please leave me a comment or shoot me an email if these are the types of posts you’d like to see! I know they mostly relate to bloggers but I also think a lot of these conversations will be great for business owners in general!

Happy Monday babes! I hope you have a great start to your week!
